Football Program Descriptions

Jr. Flag Co-Ed(5-7)

This is a basic skills level for our youngest group. We want our Jr. Flag Warriors to wear their Blue and Gold with pride while learning the fundamentals of Flag Football. Practices/Scrimmages will be 1 day per week for 1 hour. Practice at Butler Park.  Each player will receive an AP Jr. Warriors Football T-Shirt.
 Format is 7-7 flag playing other local Pop Warner teams using USA Flag Football rules with no contact. 



Girls Flag

Girls Flag football is 7V7 No Contact Flag Football. Ages 10U-16U will learn the fundamentals of flag football. We will play a full 6-8 Week schedule against other schools. Practice will be 1-2x per week. Practices are Mandatory.
Game Uniforms and Flags will be provided by the league.
Pre-season practicing starts in August
Game schedule to start simultaneous with CDPW typical schedule
Post season play and Capital District Championship 2024. 

8U Tackle

This is our introduction to Tackle Football.  The 8U kids will learn the proper way to play the game by utilizing the HAWK tackle system.  8U Tackle players will be strongly encouraged to attend the AP High School Youth Football Camp during the summer.  Practice will be 4x per week before school starts and 2x per week after at our Butler Park Complex. Practices are Mandatory.  This level is very fun to be a part of and one of our most successful. 8U Tackle plays a Full 7-8 week schedule against other Class A and AA schools.  All equipment and Game Uniforms will be provided by the league.

10U Tackle

Our 10U Tackle program is the spring board for our 12U program for APJW.  At this level we are preparing the 10U players to enter our 12U Tackle Program.  10U Tackle will be strongly encouraged to attend the AP High School Youth Football Camp during the summer.  Practice will be 4x per week before school starts and 2x per week after at our Butler Park Complex. At the 10U level we require all players to attend Film Study at least once per week to review the prior week's game and prepare for the next opponent. Practices are Mandatory.  10U Tackle plays a Full 7-8 week schedule against other Class A and AA schools.  All equipment and Game Uniforms will be provided by the league.

12U Tackle

Our 12U Tackle program is the cream of the crop for APJW.  At this level we are preparing the 12U players to enter our Modified Program at Algonquin Middle School.  Sr. Tackle will be strongly encouraged to attend the AP High School Youth Football Camp during the summer.  Practice will be 4x per week before school starts and 2x per week after at our Butler Park Complex. At the 12U level we require all players to attend Film Study at least once per week to review the prior week's game and prepare for the next opponent. Practices are Mandatory.  12U Tackle plays a Full 7-8 week schedule against other Class A and AA schools.  All equipment and Game Uniforms will be provided by the league.
